September is recognized as Pain Awareness Month, an opportunity to bring greater attention to chronic pain and the many people whose daily lives are affected by it. Nearly 8 million Canadians (about one in five people) live with chronic pain, which can interfere with work, sleep, mobility, exercise and everyday activities.

For people dealing with ongoing back pain, neck pain, joint discomfort, headaches, muscle tension or injuries, simply masking the pain may not always be enough. Understanding the physical and biomechanical factors contributing to discomfort can be an important part of developing an effective pain-management plan.

At Colasanti Chiropractic and Wellness Centre, our goal is to assess each patient individually and help identify musculoskeletal issues that may be contributing to pain, restricted movement or reduced function. Chiropractic care focuses on the musculoskeletal and nervous systems and can be incorporated into a broader approach to improving mobility, function and overall well-being.

Our Windsor wellness centre offers a variety of non-drug treatment options, including chiropractic care, massage therapy, physical therapy, acupuncture, custom orthotics, cold laser therapy, and acute and chronic pain management services.

Chronic pain is complex, and the best approach may involve a combination of physical therapies, self-management strategies, medical care and other treatments depending on the individual. This September, Pain Awareness Month is a reminder that living with pain does not have to mean simply ignoring it. Finding out what may be contributing to your discomfort is an important first step toward moving and feeling better.

Looking for natural, non-drug options to support your pain-management plan? Contact Colasanti Chiropractic and Wellness Centre in Windsor to schedule an assessment and learn which treatment options may be appropriate for you. Please reach out to us: 519-258-8544
