Help for Tendonitis

Tendonitis is a fairly common musculoskeletal problem which is the result of excess strain to the soft tissue, in particular, the tendons.

A tendon is a connective tissue that attaches muscle to bone.

When the tendon is inflamed, it may be painful, swollen, warm to the touch and possibly associated with a grinding sensation.

Tendonitis is a common problem as the result of repetitive movements, such as working in a factory, on a computer or while playing sports. It can be acute pain or a chronic problem and more common as we age.

Help for tendonitis

It’s important to identify the likely cause of the stress to the tendon and remove or at least reduce it. If there’s damage or irritation to the tissue, it may be beneficial to try other approaches such as:

  • Ultrasound

  • Cold LASER Therapy

  • Acupuncture

  • Massage

  • Stretching techniques

  • Braces to help support the area and reduce stress on the tissue
